Full-Time Youth Pastor

Branch Chapel, located in Selma, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time youth pastor to serve the youth of our congregation. A qualified candidate should be a Christian and is ordained or seeking ordination, has a good knowledge and understanding of the Bible, and has a love for Jesus and people. Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check. The estimated pay for this position is $45,000 - $52,000 based on experience, with one week of vacation to start.

 

Summary:

The primary role of the Youth Pastor is to create a welcoming environment for students and young adults and help them learn the Word of God and apply it to their lives.  This person will plan, lead, and oversee all activities that seek to reach students and their families for Christ and the Church. They will also promote spiritual development as well as create an atmosphere of learning, fun, and fellowship appropriate to the age groups being served. They meet the requirements found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1. The Youth Pastor serves under the Senior Pastor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Agree with the doctrine of the Original Free Will Baptist

  • Provide leadership to the overall children and youth ministries by serving and interacting with young people in these ministries.

  • Model and raise the value of a Christ centered lifestyle to the students.

  • Develop ministry plan that includes discipleship training, biblical education, retreats, VBS, fellowship, and community involvement

  • Serve as Summer Camp Minister

  • Visit middle schools & high schools and develop relationships with students so that our Church is a light that draws them to Jesus

  • Teach the Word in a way that helps students navigate culture so they become strong in the faith that will carry them to adulthood and sustain them through life

  • Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.

  • Develop teaching curriculum in coordination with the Senior Pastor

  • Lead mission and outreach projects that connect our Church to the community

  • Engage college and young adults and encourage them to stay spiritually connected during their young adult years

  • Recruit and grow ministry volunteers and oversee their roles

  • Provide counseling for students and parents as needed

  • Prepare and manage the Student Ministry budget with the aid of the Finance Committee

  • Assist Pastor in worship services and visitations as requested

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings with the Senior Pastor

  • Provide a monthly report to the Board of Deacons

  • Perform other duties, tasks and projects as assigned by the Senior Pastor
